Tungsten releases new video

The countdown to the release of their upcoming fourth “The Grand Inferno” is ticking mercilessly as Swedish symphonic metallers TUNGSTEN present their fans in the form of a new digital single and music video today. ‘Vantablack’ is nothing but a true headbanging song with a touch of Nordic folk music that leans more to the industrial side of the group, and with still eight additonal highly infectious tracks to be discovered, “The Grand Inferno” will be unleashed on October 18, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM).

TUNGSTEN are a Swedish symphonic metal band formed by ex-HAMMERFALL drummer Anders Johansson and his sons Niklas and Karl in 2016, completed by vocalist Mike Andersson. With their technical virtuosity and captivating compositions, the band have made a name in the international metal scene, and with their album “The Grand Inferno,”their first release via RPM, they will undoubtedly enrich the metal landscape. The record brims with nothing but energy and innovation, and promises a powerful fusion of dynamic instrumentation and captivating melodies with the quartet’s signature sound being apparent throughout.

Nick Johansson, who even filmed and directed the music video, says, “‘Vantablack’ is actually our oldest song. It was originally written in 2016 under the moniker ‘Strokkur,’ the band name we had before changing it to TUNGSTEN. A slightly different demo version of the song was recorded but never released. We wrote so many new songs for our debut album “We Will Rise,” so the song was simply forgotten until now.”

“A year ago we played the demo version of this song for Patrick, the president of our fan site on social media (‘Tungsten Fans Worldwide’) and he immediately insisted that we should do a proper recording of the song and include it on our next album. We loved the song ourselves, so we decided to do so as an homage to our friend who started the TUNGSTEN fan site. Thanks to him lots of TUNGSTEN friends have found each other around the world and started various TUNGSTEN fan sites in lots of different countries,” explains singer Mike Andersson the song’s history more detailed.
