Hailing from Gothenburg, Lillasyster is a Swedish metalband that started out back in 2004 under the name Rallypack, but around 2007 they changed the name to Lillasyster.

Lillasyster is a band that u like, not for their sound but for how they make you feel! I have always felt empowered by their music! Lyrics at first listen can sound a bit ridiculous but then there is something that twists it, and you really understand every word and feeling. They always have been a fantastic live band and they know how to fire up an audience and keep that fire during the whole show. If you count the album under the name Rallypack then Lillasyster has eight albums in their backpack. Lillasyster has always given back to their fans as they always have time for everyone who wants an autograf or photo and their signing sessions has always been a huge hug-party.
With this tour ” Tack och förlåt” it is their final farewell but their music will continue to live on. From the very beginning they where the Rebels, a bit cocky but with great hearts behind it. In twenty years we have been spoilt with songs that we have loved to, cried on, been angry with and so on.They have songs for every emotion a person can possibly have.
I have seen them numerous times but the show at Platen’s bar in Linköping 4th of October will be on my top 3 shows. The other two have been at Skogsröjet festival and at Sweden Rock festival. Before today however the last time I saw them was 2019 at Arbis in Norrköping, it was just before the pandemic and there they felt tired and worn out.
I got some a chance for some quick words with Martin Westerstrand Skans, the leadsinger of Lillasyster, after the gig.
He says: – “We want to stop when we still have fun and can give our fans the love they deserve. We are getting older and it takes energy to be on tour. We are all musicians and music will continue in our lifes but not as Lillasyster. We have come to that point that it is time to call it quits. We are all still best friends and we want to continue that friendship.
We have got so much love from our fans that it feels like we are not worthy of it.We love our fans and this tour is to show our love and joy the music has brought us.”
Lillasyster is the band that went from being rebelious to be loved by the Swedish people. I remember asking Martin back in 2015 in an interwiew: what is left to do with Lillasyster? Martin’s answer was: it would be cool to do ESC! They did it twice, but maybe the schlager audience wasn’t ready for them and the type of lyrics they came with.
They have done some great covers aswell, Rihanna’s Umbrella and Kate Perry’s Roar which was for the “Fuck Cancer” movement that had started some years before they did the cover.
So after 20 years as a band, around 600 shows, numerous prices and nominees its time to say : Farewell!
The gig at Platen’s bar was like seeing them in the early days. The vibe was there, amazing energy that went from the stage to the audience and back again. We where just a huge energy of love. What I always liked about their live shows is that they just go with the flow…it is not many seconds they are still on the stage. The audience cheered, clapped hands and it was sing-a-long from first to last note! And of course we got encores!
We got the songs: Berätta det för Lina( their first single), Kräkas, Pretender , Umbrella and of course their anthem: Mera Hårdrock!!
It was a great night and on behalf of Maizter-Underground we wish them the best on their last shows on the Farewell tour! I know they will be seen on the music stage again in some way, shape or from but not as Lillasyster.
I just say from the bottom of my heart and soul: Thank you for the music and thank you for twenty great years of love!
Yours truly!
