Hot Sunday Blood was founded back in 2013 in Turin, Italy. The sound is inspired by alternative rock with heavy influences. Each member of the band personally influences the sound, arriving from different backgrounds, such as metal, stoner, grunge, black metal, prog and new wave. The band has released 2 albums and an EP, Hot Sunday Blood recently released a new single. About time to figure out who Hot Sunday Blood are!
Hey, thanks for taking the time for an interview with Maizter Underground!
How are you doing? Covid and all.
We struggled with the pandemic like many others, sadly. It slowed down our production but we are now quickly getting back on track.
How did the band come to exist?
Back in 2013 five people with common musical interests met. The original idea was to recreate dark and grunge vibes and over the next few years the sound evolved until reaching today’s shape.
Can you introduce the bandmembers one by one?
Andrea: vocals and lyrics
Marco: Guitar and beers
Carlo: Drums and motorbikes
Paolo: Bass and stupid humor
Andrea: Guitar and potatoes
You guys call yourself Hot Sunday Blood. How did you come up with this name and what does it mean?
It’s a mood. On Sunday you should relax yourself but your inner troubles hold you back and you keep having bad thoughts. Having “hot blood” is the literal translation of an Italian expression which means feeling angry, out of place and in a general bad mood
Can you tell me something about the journey this far? Where did the creativity come from for your first “own work” and who (if any) did inspire you?
Our idea was to tell a tale of despair, using it as a metaphor for the sad moments anyone may encounter in his life. We almost always try to say something interesting with our music, something people can reflect themselves on.
What are the (longtime) goals with Hot Sunday Blood?
We want to try hard to reach a wider audience and play bigger and bigger live shows. The ultimate goal is to spread our music, have fun, and be great performers!
Are there are singles/ an album coming up?
We have just released our last single Here and Now with the featuring of Trevor from Sadist!
Do you have any festivals/gigs/shows planned?
Unfortunately not at this time. We are rehearsing in order to be hot and ready by the beginning of 2022 though.
