Slashy Sue has recently announced a roadmap towards the release of their debut-album named The Slasher Tapes. This independent recording is scheduled to be released next month (April). Prior to that Slashy Sue released their fourth single Bloodstained Kitchen.
Slashy Sue is a Industrial horror metalband originated in 2019 in Sweden. The founders of this band can be known for their work in Swedish Zephyra. Slashy Sue and her music are based on the fictional tale of serial killer Susan Henderson. The story goes that Miss Henderson killed and cannibalized 37 victims which earned here the nickname of Slashy Sue. The songs are Susan Henderson’s (fictional) confessions.
Recently Slashy Sue released the first three singles of their upcoming debut album The Slasher Tapes. Wheel of Death was accompanied by a brand new video clip from this energetic Swedish couple whilst Tag, You’re Dead was accompanied by a lyric video!
On the fourth of March 2022 Slashy Sue dropped the fourth song of their upcoming debut album The Slasher Tapes. I had the privilege to review several previous singles of this Swedish Power couple before, and with every listen I get more and more impressed with the high level of composition and lyrics. Although the lyrics are filled with curse words and explicit lyrics, it never feels as to much. Bloodstained Kitchen starts off with a catchy melody and from there on the pace is picked up. The range of lead vocalista Asa Netterbrant is truly impressive. Deep dark growls, followed by clear almost play-full singing stuns me every-time I hear Slashy Sue. One of the characteristics that define Slashy Sue for me are the loud and hard drums as well as the loud and strong guitar play done by multi-instrumentalist Tony Netterbrant. The song itself fits perfectly well with the previous songs, is a tat more Industrial than some of the previous single releases, but is instantly recognisable as Slashy Sue. Yet another fantastic Slashy Sue song in what must be a truly magnificent album once its released!
