Rebellix – Gimme, Gimme, Gimme

Some bands are born from carefully laid plans. Others emerge from a single moment that changes everything. For the Finnish heavy metal outfit Rebellix, that spark came in 2015, when guitarist and songwriter Samuel Honkavaara took part in the legendary #100GuitarsFromHel concert organized by Alexi Laiho and the city of Helsinki. What began as inspiration soon became the foundation for a new band—one that would grow from Helsinki’s underground clubs to international television screens.

The first idea behind Rebellix was surprisingly different from what the band would eventually become. Initially conceived as a tongue-in-cheek rock ‘n’ roll project, the music gradually evolved into something heavier, faster, and more emotionally charged. As Samuel Honkavaara refined his vision, guitarist Tomi Lappalainen joined the project, helping shape the band’s unmistakable guitar-driven sound.
Over time, the light-hearted concept gave way to aggressive riffs, soaring melodies, and energetic performances rooted firmly in heavy metal while drawing inspiration from classic metal, glam, punk rock, and modern hard rock.

Recently Rebellix changed their line-up with the addition Mandy Finne and Jani Niemela as the new bass-player and drummer.
“Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” is the first single to be released in this set-up and it does not dissappoint. For me,”Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” is the first encounter with these Finnish heavy metallers and from the very start, this song gives you a good idea what Rebellix is all about. A heavy guitar riff joined by an uptempo drum sets the pace for a (in the best way possible) true classic heavy metal song. The right amount of rage, power and pure dedication, combined with a powerfull and strong voice, makes “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” a great introduction song to me!
With the festival season just about to start “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” should be fantastic song for crowds to headbang too, bring out the air-guitars and scream Gimme ,Gimme Gimme!
