Brief interview with Northern Redemption

In the later stages of 2020 in Sweden Nothern Redemption emerged. A melodic metal hard rock band of three talented Swedish musicians. After releasing two singles and working hard on their debut EP, Northern Redemption released a brand new single today! About this single, and some other stuff I had a talk with these upcoming Swedes!

Hey, thanks for taking the time for an interview with Maizter Underground!
How are you doing? Covid and all.

Hello! It’s just fine with us thanks! The pandemic hasn’t stopped us or our musical development, but it has been a bumpy road, and still is for us and for so many bands out there. Northern Redemption has its own share of this and we’ve been back and forth with different members dropping off during some time. Luckily the band is starting to take shape and we are looking forward to grasping some new challenges.

How did Northern Redemption come to exist?

In autumn 2020, after leaving the previous band, the idea grew to start a new project. The idea quickly became a fact. A handful of people were found who immediately became a close-knit gang of different people from different backgrounds.
Northern Redemption was born and the journey had just begun.

You guys call yourself Northern Redemption. How did you come up with this name and what does it mean?

From the start the name was pland to be Redemption but there was already a band with that name in the USA so i thought why not call the band Northern Redemption instead

The band just hired a new singer. Is this the final line up, or are you looking for other members still?

We finally found a really good singer and he’s now a full member of the band, but we’re still looking for a bass player, luckily we have a guitar player that also plays the bass really good, but we’re still searching for a bass player. We have had some auditions for a drummer this summer and we found a great drummer and we’re in the final stage to sign up with him.

NR has released two singles. Can you tell me something about those single’s?

Spiritwalker is written with a historical perspective in mind where you as a medical researcher (healer) are having a hard time trying to be accepted by the society without being called a witch doctor.

Pandemic is a song came naturally considering how the world looked and still looks today.

Northern Redemption has released a brand new single today! ( Oct 1st, 2021) What can you tell us about that?

The new single will be a bit of a signum as we now have changed the sound and tightened up the music really hard. I think our listeners will appreciate this development. We are in the process of completing our EP with 5 songs that are planned to be released in late autumn.

Do you have any festivals/gigs/shows planned?

At the moment we have nothing planned but we have to focus on getting the band together and writing and finishing our songs, but we expect that we will appear on stage in 2022.

Allright! Thank you for your time! On behalf of everyone at Maizter Underground we want to wish you guys all the best with all you do in the future!
